This is where the empty weight of your luggage becomes a real issue: for a 15 kg allowance, a 4.5 kg suitcase leaves you with only 10.5 kg of belongings, whereas a 2.8 kg model frees up 12.2 kg. Each customer can purchase up to three checked bags, including children and infants. Two limitations to be aware of. Pooling is only possible on a single, identical reservation: two separate reservations on the same flight do not combine. And the weight of checked baggage never combines with that of sports equipment, which follows its own allowance.

The calculation is simple: add the three sides of your suitcase, including wheels and handle. A large suitcase of 78 x 52 x 30 cm totals 160 cm, well below the maximum. easyJet checked baggage price and airport fees

easyJet operates at two speeds. The price of baggage purchased online is dynamic: the airline states that fees vary depending on demand, route, flight date, and time of booking, and that you will see the exact price at the time of purchase. However, penalties are published and fixed.

The two fixed rates to know

The first is at the bag drop counter: 70 euros per checked bag up to 23 kg brought to the airport without having been purchased beforehand. This is the price for forgetting, and it is the same regardless of the route.

The second is for excess weight: 15 euros per kilo, per bag and per flight, applicable as soon as your suitcase exceeds the weight declared at booking. Five extra kilos will therefore cost you 75 euros, roughly the price of a second bag purchased online.

Conversely, additional weight purchased in advance is capped at 18 euros per 3 kg increment, and can only be purchased online. The difference is clear: 3 kg anticipated costs a maximum of 18 euros, the same 3 kg discovered at the scale costs 45 euros.
